Many of us have had a fantastic four days of Orienteering at the JK Festival which this year was close to hand. The organisation, venues with adjacent parking and facilities provided were outstanding and the planning of courses and quality of map printing first class.

Unfortunately there was one down side which was the emit and results system which struggled from start to finish. Hence we are still waiting to see what the confirmed results will say.

What we do have confirmed is that Harry Bratcher-Howard and Grace French were both 3rd in the Sprint at Aldershot on Friday. Also that the junior relay team of Harry and Monty Bratcher-Howard and Grace French were 4th in the Junior Mini- Relay. Beyond that I am waiting for other results to be confirmed before I rush to publish and get my facts wrong.

John Warren is to be congratulated on being awarded the BOF Silva Award 2018 at the BOF AGM in recognition of his many years of service as a volunteer to the sport of Orienteering.

Also over the weekend Jason Falconer WSX was awarded the 2018 Chris Bonington Coach of the Year Award - congratulations go to him for this achievement.

(Mon 29 April) With provisional results now published, we congratulate Harry Bratcher-Howard who was the winner of the JK M12 class based on the results of Day 2 and Day 3 combined.  A fantastic achievement.  Also one result that I had not picked up before which was that Sue Hands was 2nd in W70 on Day 2 - the Middle Distance race.
