WIM at JK2014

This last weekend a number of us have been enjoying the weather in sunny Wales – Wednesday, Friday and Monday real summer weather, Thursday and Saturday cloudy and a bit fresh in the wind, Sunday everything from thunder and lightning to thick mist, rain, clag (the not so good day)

Competition was fierce with well over 3000 competitors and results can be seen at

In the Sprint event at Swansea University top 10 places went to
Becca Ellis Women’s Open 3rd
Sally Calland W35 4th

We then had two days of Long events on Merthyr Common.

Best result of the weekend must go to Barbara Warren in W80 who was 3rd overall in her class for the two days

Other top 10 places for the two days were
Jo Pickering W21S 10th
Lynn Branford W60S 6th
Sue Hands W65L 4th

Finally in the Relays our results were
Men’s Short 38/59 Simon Branford, Eamon Staunton, Lewis Wright
Women’s Short 10/47 Sally Calland, Kirsty Staunton, Jo Pickering
210+ 5/36 Chris Branford, Sue Hands, Keith Henderson

We also had another team in 210+ which unfortunately was a runner short and could only complete the first two legs – Lynn Branford and John Warren
