The 2012 Wimborne Club League season ended a little sooner than expected. Cancellation of the November Classic and no takers for the BOK Galoppen meant the WIM Galoppen on 11 November was the last of twelve events. Final 2012 placings are now online at

Congratulations to our four champions and everyone else who took part. 81 WIM members appear in the tables, an impressive total.
Chris Branford (M65) established an early lead in the Senior Men's championship, holding off challenges by John Whittingham and Richard Brightman. Half way through the season it was still a close contest. Ultimately though, he proved a convincing winner, 71 points ahead of runner-up Steven Horsler who was last year's champion.
Tamsin Horsler (W45) is the Senior Women's champion, finishing just 9 points clear of runner-up Sue Hands. It had been neck-and-neck between these two all season and the lead changed once again at the decisive WIM Galoppen. Well done indeed to two formidable rivals!
Fraser Smith (M14) repeated his 2011 success to become Junior Boys winner. Runner-up was Darren Whittingham. Well done both.
Rebecca Whittingham (W14) once again won the Junior Girls title. Runner-up this year was Sarah Horsler who competed in seven events, a strong showing from a determined W12.
The 2013 Club League season will soon be upon us, beginning with the NWO Galoppen in Savernake Forest on 13 Jan. The rules are very similar to 2012 and include a list of Club League scoring events. Please check British Orienteering Event Guideline B if you are unsure which colour you should be running at different sizes of event. I'll be happy to answer any queries.
We look forward to seeing you. Good luck, everyone!
