600 metres

One of the new races was the 600 metres. It was only introduced last year, and we can see why! There are two races, one for the boys and another for the girls. The track is 200 metres, so you have to do three laps of the track. Each school entered two people, they could be any age from yr3 to yr6. First up was the boys race the boys, we entered in, Alex.W. and Jack. They started of very fast and we weren't quite sure that they would keep this speed up. They unfortunately did not, but they kept on going and tried their best, and made us proud! Jack came 8th and Alex came 9th. The next race was the girls, Jazz and I were really nervous. We had some good tactics. To let them set the pace and let them do all the hard work. We started off on a good pace, and got up to the front. After a while the group started to break away from the main group. Both me and Jazz were up in front. Jazz in fourth and Katrina was in second. Suddenly that all changed as Katrina overtook the leading girl to finish first place! it was a close finish!Jazz came in fourth, the race ended quickly and we had take our results to the table. Then we went to sit back down and have a rest!
