On the 5th of June 2001 all the Bridport cluster schools (Burton, Symondsbury, Thorners, Loders, Powerstock, St Catherine's, St Mary's and County Primary) went to Bridport Leisure centre to perform a world music concert as part of the 'world music project'. All of the key stages 1&2 of each school made a song to contribute to the concert. When we arrived at the Leisure centre we were guided to our area where we were to stay until the open-air concert began. After about ten minutes the whole of the Leisure centre playing field was swarming with hundreds of children and helpers trying to control everyone! 12'o clock came the concert was about to begin the tension was building up and so was the nerves. The One World Bands were ready to go. Mr Powell who was in charge of the whole event introduced everyone and the concert began. First it was time for all the key stage 1 children from all the schools to sing their songs - there were some truly excellent songs. Next it was the turn of all the key stage two children, there was loads of brilliant songs and one of them was encored! At the end of the key stage two choir it was the end of the concert and the school banners were lifted so we all knew where our school was to meet to walk to St Mary's public playing field where our parents were to pick us up. Over all it was a fantastic day and I think everyone enjoyed it. We think on behalf of our whole school we'd like to say thank you to everyone who even had a small part in it especially Mr Powell. We all thought it was all very well arranged. By Fiona & Christy Loders School
