On Sunday 23rd February 2003, James, Joe, Gill (James and George's mum) and George went orienteering at Washers Pit, near Shaftesbury.

We all started together on an orange course but Joe and James got ahead of the other two and went off on their own. They did the course in 1 hour 14 mins but they got lost twice. However they made up for it by taking two compass bearings.

At the finish they waited 45mins for Gill and George, but they found that they had retired ages ago!

We were going to do a string course but we had been waiting so long that there wasn't time!

The course was very hard, and it seemed like a lot of people got lost. It was really muddy so we did well and then we went into Blandford to have some chips. We were REALLY tired when we got back!
