We made our way over to Admiral Nelson’s Flagship. The entrance was very small so Mr.Kite had to bend down to get through it. We sat down to have a small talk about the ship, though to the tour guide’s surprise Mr. Kite had already told us most of the facts!

These are some of the facts the tour guide told us

• There were 60 ships in the fleet.
• Admiral Nelson had a Wife and a Lady Friend called Lady Emma Hamilton.
• England had 27 ships and the Enemy had 33.
• Animals were kept on board where the sailors worked and slept.
• Sailors slept in canvas hammocks with straw mattresses.
• When a sailor died they sew up his hammock (with him inside) and made sure that his spirit didn’t return by making sure one of the stitches went through his nose! How gross is that!!!
• Nelson had a cat called Tiddles, can you guess why? To catch the rats!!!

After a tour around the H.M.S Victory we were glad we live in the twentieth century!!!
