Hi - we want to tell you about our Y6 adventure, caving and climbing! On the 31st of March Y6 9 of us went caving and climbing at Weymouth outdoor education centre and there we went to Flagpole cave in Portland. It was a very narrow cave and also very tall and there was a bit in it called the letter box. Anyway about our journey through the cave, we started off walking through the cave until we came to a T junction. We turned right and went straight until we came to another T junction and then we turned left . Then it started getting thinner and we came to concrete corner, we then go down a hole and come out on the right of concrete corner then we go straight on. Then we took a left to the letter box, we went through the letter box where Mr. Kite got a broken toe because of Jason. Zak made it look so easy according to Mr. Kite. We then walked through the cave with our lights off. We saw some light and we climbed under and over a boulder and got out and went back to the bus and went back for dinner. After dinner we got helmets and harnesses on and climbed the traversing wall and after that we went outside and climbed the climbing tower. We climbed the sloped walls and 5 of us climbed the vertical wall and 3 of were abseiling and Zak was the fastest of the lot. Then we went in the cave simulator and then got our stuff and just as we were leaving the bus broke down but Will came to the rescue and gave us a jump-start. We then drove home and met our parents. |
