The barn dance at Wytherston

On Saturday the 10th of July Loders and Burton had a barn dance at Wytherston barn. The dancing went from 7:00 to 10:15.

We played 6 tunes, Jacobstowe Jig, Oh Susanna, Buffalo girls, Speed the plough, Uncle Reuben and Boil 'em cabbage down. After the interval the 9 pins played and we got a chance to dance. We were allowed a free beef burger and three free cokes or lemonades. After the music we were free to run around and play in the garden.

The Barn Dance worked out really well. I was playing the recorder and Paul was playing the keyboard. There were clarinets, xylophones, flutes, saxophones, keyboards, recorders, drums, guitars and violins. Mrs Dawson led the band and Mr Powell was the caller.

There was lots of food and drink and the bar-b-cue was a really good idea. The dances were a lot of fun to dance to and some of them were really difficult but funny.

Mr Kite (our head master) bought me and some of my friends a drink because I fed Isabel and changed her nappy.
