Sleeping beauty is a comedy play that was done by year 5 and 6. We practised the play approximately 5 weeks but it could have been longer. And we also practised the songs for about 10 weeks. Everybody had a part in the play even if it was being stage crew or actors. We performed the play at Loders in the village hall. We had our dress rehearsal on the 25 of March and the performance was on the 26 of March. We had to do the play twice, once at 2:00pm and one in the evening at 6:30pm. We had a good high stage and curtains at the side to make sure the actors couldn't be seen from the audience. We were more nervous in the evening than in the afternoon because there were more people in the evening. The rest of the school came in the afternoon and we think they liked it and thought it was funny. None of us forgot our lines on the day apart from James Izri but he didn't forget much. The actors were: James Izri=King (A pompous tyrant) Anna Bariffi=Queen (A gardening fanatic) Abigail Matthews=Fairy Grotto (Evil, deceitful, hideous-we quite like her) Zak Bentley=Chancellor (Not a very bright Prime Minister) Alastair Milree=the Bishop Michelle Newberry=Fairy Nuff (A sweet good natured Fairy) Dawn Collins=Fairy Cake Myfanwy Lloyd=Fairy Lights (Rather incompetent Fairy Godmothers) Katherine Barrett=Fairy Tale Christopher Bull=Swain (a local yokel) Helen Webber=the Princess (pretty, but spoiled and petulant) Christina Davis=voice of Princess as a baby Waldo Etherington=the Hero (handsome, noble, fearless, stupid, also large feet) Jason Way=Captain of Guard Joseph Carter=Executioner Other parts played by Arrian Kaveh, Stephen Sheppard, Daniel Price, Nicola Smith, Dean Northover & Timothy Butler. |
