UThe Harvest Thanksgiving.U

On Tuesday the 13th we had a Harvest festival performance in the Loders church. First all the parents arrived and when all the seats were full we began. First Mr Kite introduced it with a speech. Then we started with the hymn Praise and Thanksgiving and the school band accompanied it. Then Key Stage 1 read out some poems and sang a song called Pears and apples. When they had finished it was Year 3 and 4s turn. They did some readings and a shadow puppet play about weather. Then the choir sung the song Michaelmas Daisies. They were very good. After that some of the year 5s read a story called The French Valley. When they had finished the school sang the hymn Pears and Apples Then it was our turn to do a reading. We read a story called Johnny Appleseed. I think we did it O.K. When we finished the band got to play their (chart topping Number 1) September Song. It was their first live song and they did very well. We almost got deafened with the clapping. When the clapping subsided Mr Page Turner read out some prayers. When he had finished we sang our last hymn Let Us With A Gladsome Mind. And then we had finished our festival. Mr Kite went around with a plate collecting money. It would be towards the Dorset Cancer Care.
