The Dance at the Edge of the World

On Saturday 12th of June, Loders school band teamed up with Burton for a barn dance at Burton cliff hotel. We played 6 songs while Mr Powell instructed the dances and played his melodeon. There were 2 clarinet players, 2 flute players, 8 recorders, 1 saxophone player, 2 percussion, 1 violin player, 2 guitars and around 7 keyboards, also a xylophone. We were playing for around an hour with short breaks in between each song. At half past 8 we stopped playing and some people went home and other people stayed for the dancing. The dancing stayed on until 10:30 in the evening. Each of the dances were different, some were difficult, some were nutty and some were easy but all of them were fun! Everyone had a wonderful time thanks to Mr Powell and Mrs Dawson.
