It was Friday the 18th of June and we were off to a cricket match against Burton Bradstock. It was the first game in the Grate Ashes, a tournament of cricket matches. The team, Joseph, Alastair, Arrian, Dale, Stephen, Nicola, Michelle, Vicky, Waldo and Katherine were all full of confidence. We arrived at Burton and waited for the Burton team. Soon they arrived, Mr Kite flicked a coin and asked the Burton captain, heads or tails? It was heads and the Burton captain decided to field. Arrian and I were in first. We did quite well and scored a few runs. The game went on and the other batsmen were called up. Waldo and Stephen scored a lot of runs and so did Nicola and Katherine. Soon the score was announced. We had 211 runs. Then it was Burton's team in bat. They were good and scored a lot of runs. Katherine did a wonderful catch and there were some other close catches. Then, when the Burton team had gone out, the scores were announced. Loders: 211 runs. Burton: 222 runs! We had been beaten and lost the first of the Ashes matches. But it was a fun game anyway.
