Inside the museum

On Thursday 26th of April, years three and four travelled to Caerleon, where we went to a museum. In the museum there was some ancient Roman jewellery, weapons, armour, etc and there were also Roman figures, which were new.

Roman barracks

When we got off the coach we were all very excited.
First, we saw the Amphitheatre but couldn’t go in
because it said foot and mouth so we went to the ruins of the barracks.
There we looked at the latrines, the bread ovens and the Barracks themselves.
Tommy thought he found some teeth but they were two stones
and also he stood in the sewage.
This is a picture of the lookout tower.

THE CAPRICORN CENTRE

On Thursday 26th April, years three and four travelled to Caerleon, where there was once some Roman barracks.
At the Capricorn Centre we dressed up as Romans. We wore armour, tunics, helmets and togas. Phillip was terrified when the guide put the sword to his neck.

In the studio

One place we went is the studio, where Thomas & David volunteered to pretend to use the latrines.

Beforehand, Ruth, the guide, asked Tommy to grind corn & gave him a Roman name, Gaius.

Then she said that we could have a go with some Roman toys & look at some Roman foods.

Meanwhile Ruth asked Maddy & Gemma if they would like their hair up in a Roman hair style, they said yes.

In the baths.

One of the things we did was go to the baths. We saw the ruins of them. We also saw a model of what it would look like in Roman times. We also saw all about Roman of life on TV. After that we heard a speaker in Welsh, and saw a well with money in. Finally we went to the Gift shop.
