The bells arrived at the church on a lorry |

In record time since all six bells were taken down in September they were delivered back by local engineering firm, Nicholson's. Four of the bells went to the Whitechapel Bell Foundry in London, where the fifth bell, which was in a poor state, was recast. It was renamed the jubilee bell, and embossed with the royal coat of arms. Following a Loders tradition which began with the tenor bell in 1627, the new bell also carries the names of the church wardens and parish priest at the time. They are Jessie Barrett, Guy Temple and Canon Nerissa Jones. |
We watched as one bell was lifted from the lorry and on to a pallet trolley to take it into the church. |
